Alzheimer's & Dementia
Millions of adults today live with Alzheimer’s – the biggest risk to maintaining a high quality of life is wandering
THE CHALLENGE
More Than 7 Million People in The U.S. Live With Alzheimer’s And 60% of Them will Wander
For a majority of those living with Alzheimer’s, wandering and becoming lost or suffering from a fall because of confusion and panic is all too real. And, for many, this wandering can occur at night because the circadian rhythms of those with Alzheimer’s are disrupted, meaning they are more active at night and more tired during daylight hours.
This becomes a real challenge for the millions of senior living staff and for family caregivers who want Alzheimer’s adults to live independently but safely.

We Offer Comprehensive System to Care for Adults Living with Dementia
THEORA CARE BENEFITS
We Work with You Along the Entire Journey
Early stage
In the early stage of Alzheimer’s and dementia care, it is important to encourage loved ones to be active and independent.
Theora Connect smartwatch, paired with the Theora Link Pro Smartphone App, uses GPS for tracking and allows caregivers to view current activity, location and predicts and detects falls. It alerts caregivers when a fall happens and provides instant communication to the loved one through the Quik Connect™ feature.
Our Smart Fall Detection™ uses more advanced technology to not only detect but also predict falls with accuracy that reduces false/positive readings.
Mid stage
The middle stages of Alzheimer’s, can bring increased wandering at night. Theora provides caregivers with Safe Zones™ which alert when a loved one enters or exits.
In addition to wandering, the middle stages of Alzheimer’s may also result in a loved one’s increasing agitation. Some adults may try to remove their smartwatch as part of this agitation.
We have co-designed all of our products with those living with the disease and their family caregivers. We have a Theora Connect locking clasp that allows the caregiver, but not the wearer, to remove the watch
Late stage
In the late-stage of Alzheimer’s or dementia, whether living in a memory care community or at home, Theora Care™ can be another set of eyes, performing as a virtual home alert system to assist professional and family caregivers.
Communication even includes auto-answering audio If the wearer cannot or does not answer, they can still hear your reassuring voice.
With Theora Care solutions, behavioral changes can be seen more quickly, as the wellness data captured provides information caregivers need to keep alerted to important changes that may need addressing.

What Our Partners Say
Frequently Asked Questions
My mom lives in a memory care community where she has full-time help – why would she need this smartwatch?
While the staff in memory care are very vigilant about your loved one’s care, they cannot be with them 24/7. In fact, studies show 45-50% of memory care residents fall each year. The staff needs help which is where Theora Care technology comes in – “always on, always learning and listening.” The memory care staff also want to encourage your loved one to participate in outings and activities to help possibly delay progression of the disease. By having your mom wear her Theora Connect watch, it helps gives the professional caregiving staff more data to predict and hopefully prevent falls and helps them respond immediately if your mom has a soft or hard fall.
If I recently purchased a Theora Connect smartwatch for my dad and he has now passed away, can I donate it back or get a partial refund?
While we do not provide refunds on purchases, we do accept donations of products that we can use to help our nonprofit partners provide these technology tools to others. Contact us about this donation.
My mom wore her Theora Connect smartwatch in the shower – is it waterproof?
The Theora Connect watch is IP67 water-resistant certified but not waterproof (cannot immerse it such as swimming). If you are having trouble with the watch working, contact us and we can help troubleshoot but we do not replace watches that are water damaged.
